Giles Privacy Notice

Information You Submit

A name, location, or other term entered in a search tool is sent to the third-party company that operates that tool. Giles County Released Inmates does not store or log those search terms on its own systems. The provider's policy controls its handling of the query.

If you send an email or contact message, we keep the information needed to answer. We do not share the message outside the organization unless the law requires disclosure.

Technical Data Collected

Normal web operations may record limited technical details when a page loads. These details help measure use and diagnose service issues.

  • Internet Protocol address
  • Browser name and version
  • Device category and operating system
  • Pages viewed and time spent
  • Referring website, when supplied
  • Date and time stamps

Cookies may help show how visitors use the site. Browser controls can reject or remove them, though some features may then work differently.

How Data Is Used

Collected data supports limited operational and measurement needs.

  • Keep pages available and responsive
  • Send a search request to the selected partner
  • Measure which content is useful
  • Find and correct technical faults
  • Display advertising that may reflect interests

Outside Sites and Advertising

Links may lead to Giles County records, sheriff and correction pages, government portals, and outside search services. Once a visitor leaves, the destination's privacy policy applies. Some advertising providers may use their own technology to understand activity across sites and select ads. That tracking occurs on their systems, not on this site's own record servers.

Parties That May Receive Data

We do not sell personal data. Limited information may still reach the services or authorities needed to operate lawfully.

  • Search partners that process submitted queries
  • Analytics providers that measure traffic
  • Advertising networks that deliver ads
  • Law enforcement or government bodies acting under a valid legal order

Reasonable Security Measures

Standard safeguards are used to protect information in our control. No internet-connected service is immune from every error, intrusion, or breach, so absolute security cannot be promised.

Use by Minors

This site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. A parent or guardian who believes a minor submitted information may use the Get in Touch page to request deletion.

Your Privacy Choices

Subject to applicable law and the data actually held, a person may ask to exercise the following rights.

  • Receive a copy of personal data held
  • Correct inaccurate personal information
  • Request deletion of eligible data
  • Object to or opt out of certain processing
